Productions

Theatre productions have always been a regular event at the Joy Reynolds School. The shows are produced at local venues including the Merlin Theatre, the Lantern Theatre and the University Drama Studio.

Productions are an integral part of the School’s work, adding another dimension to the drama work undertaken in class. Script learning is a discipline, and improvisation work for younger students builds their confidence when handling a script. Care is taken in casting all productions to ensure the individual’s development. Students learn responsibility - to themselves and to others - as they go through the process of ‘putting on a show’. They also have an enormous amount of fun and a real sense of accomplishment.

Past productions in recent years, directed and produced by Robin Manley, have included:

I'll Get My Man
The Sweeney Todd
Shock 'n' Roll Show
