Getting Started

The School operates on a term structure based on the academic year of the state education system. This means that we teach for 43 weeks in every calendar year. You may enrol with the School at any time during the year.
We appreciate that many prospective students will not know how many classes or how many individual tuition lessons they may require if they decide to join us. For those attending a class-structured subject then the first class is free of charge. For those attending individual tuition lessons the first lesson should be viewed in terms of your assessment of the service we offer. You will be asked to pay for that assessment at the commencement of that lesson. Classes take place at regular times on regular days of the week. If you opt for an individual tuition subject then we endeavour to find you a lesson on a day and at a time that suits your needs.

Methods of Payment

Invoice method

You will be invoiced for the number of weeks remaining in the term from the point of your enrolment. Existing students are invoiced two weeks prior to the commencement of a new term. All invoices should be paid within 14 days of receipt.

Bankers Order method
You may pay for your lessons or classes by a monthly Bankers Order. You will be charged for the number of weeks remaining in the School year from the point of your enrolment. We ask you to pay the first instalment by cheque or cash when you attend your first chargeable lesson or class immediately following your assessment lesson or free class. We will provide you with a partially completed Bankers Order form for you to complete and send to your bank.

Pay As You Go method
This method of payment ensures that each time you attend you will always have paid for your next class or lesson in advance. After you have attended your first free class or assessment lesson, at your next attendance you will be asked to pay for both your current class or lesson plus the next class or lesson you are scheduled to attend. After this you will be asked to pay for one class or one lesson.

Cancellations
Because of the fixed overhead costs involved we ask that you give two weeks notice should you want to cancel a lesson or class.

Discounts
A discount is available for families who have more than one student attending classes and/or private lessons at the Joy Reynolds School. We offer a 5% reduction for two students in one family or a 10% reduction for three students in one family.
